Our city needs God’s presence! We call all members and friends of CBC to come together Wednesday night at 7 pm for extraordinary prayer to seek this promise from Almighty God … “if My people who are called by My name will HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY and SEEK My face, and TURN from their wicked ways, THEN I WILL HEAR from heaven, and will FORGIVE their sin and HEAL their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

MARCH 27

Acts 4:23-31 Prayer meetings were called when opposition to the gospel was raised

When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, 25 who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,

“‘Why did the Gentiles rage,
    and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers were gathered together,
    against the Lord and against his Anointed’—

for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28 to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. 29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30 while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

4/ The Whole City Hated Jesus, But Peter and John “Performed” a Miracle

1/ All the government in the city of  Jerusalem was against Jesus and His followers

2/ All the Romans, Greeks, and other peoples were against them also

3/ All the city of Jews including  government rulers, religious leaders, and the people of Israel were against Jesus (except the number who believed at a growing rate, 5000 men plus families)

\ They were threatening the Christians with force

“And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 

4 But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.”

\ They were silencing, refuting, and trying to erase the facts of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection

17 But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” 18 So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20 for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” 21 And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened. 22 For the man on whom this sign of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

5/ The Whole Church Looked At the City, Understood the Threats, And Cried To The Lord For Help

1/ They all were unable to share the gospel because the whole city rejected Jesus and threatened them

2/ They all gathered together and asked the Father to grant them boldness to keep preaching the gospel

3/ They all asked the Father to do more miraculous things for the wicked as they prayed for their enemies

6/ God Responds With Extraordinary Actions to Prove He Hears and Is With The Church

1/ earthquake shook the building

2/ All the Christians were filled (permeated, saturated, divinely influenced) with POWER AGAIN

3/ All were emboldened with courage to keep publicly proclaiming the gospel in spite of the threats

4/ And God did stretch forth His hand and proved it immediately

ACTS 4:33 The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.

MARCH 28-30

To express our desperation to the Lord we ask all who can and will join us for 3 days of fasting and prayer to see our Easter outreach impact people March 31. The Lord wants us victorious! Your fast can be one meal a day, more, or whatever the Lord leads you to do in our efforts together to humble ourselves and seek God’s grace to fall upon Port Saint Lucie.

Matthew 17 – A Boy Is Freed From A POWERFUL DEMON, but NOT by the followers of Jesus

14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”

20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

1/ Our city is controlled by Satan and we know this because SIN and unbelief rule.

2/ Most Christians DO NOT BELIEVE Satan controls their cities.

3/ Do you believe Satan has powerful demons inside PORT SAINT LUCIE that blind the people’s minds to the gospel, and totally enslave them to sin?

4/ Do you believe this same KIND is here today and so POWERFUL that they keep 90% of our city away from salvation?
